Whole Grain Blender Waffles

Whole Grain Blender Waffles

These waffles are our favorite!  Easy to make, GF, and they taste incredible.  Everything you would expect from a waffle.

Whole Grain Blender Waffles

7 tablespoons buttermilk powder
1 3/4 cups water
2 tablespoons olive oil (or any other cooking oil you store)
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup rice
1/2 cup GF oats
1/4 millet
1 tablespoon egg powder + 2 tablespoons water (or one fresh egg)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt

Blend the buttermilk powder, water, oil, vanilla, rice, oats, and millet together until well blended (1-5 minutes).  Add egg powder, additional water, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  Blend for 1 more minute.
Pour batter into waffle iron and bake to your waffle iron's instructions.  Makes about 4 waffles.

If you want to soak this recipe overnight blend everything but the egg powder + water, leavenings, and salt.  Let sit overnight, then in the morning add egg powder + water, leavenings, and salt.

Note: this recipe calls for whole uncooked grains.  When you blend them you are turning them into "flour".
